Funding for renewables – LED lighting
Like any forward-thinking, socially aware business Fit Out Finance is keen to support environmental or green initiatives. However, for obvious reasons they do have to make financial sense and remain within the context of the specific business seeking funding. The financial rewards for the customer are seldom as immediate as when providing lease finance for LED lighting for a heavy user such as a hotel or, indeed a factory.
Simply put, the key benefit of LED is typically cited as energy saving – which is very real and easily quantifiable. In many cases, leasing LED lighting over a 4 year term will generate immediate cashflow benefits form energy savings alone.
The second less quantifiable – but very real – benefit is the cost of replacement bulbs and consumables. When you factor in consumable costs, in most cases 3 year lease will reveal significant short term cashflow benefits.
And finally, the icing on the cake – the customer and working environment.
In a customer-facing environment such as a hotel, replacing dated and non-environmental lighting with modern and adaptable LED can only enhance the customer experience as well as reinforcing your credentials as an environmentally aware business. A hotel environment is often about what a customer doesn’t notice rather than what they do. What you most want is your clients not to see dusty old fittings or blown/missing bulbs.
In a work environment, there is credible evidence that modern LED lighting can actually improve productivity and staff retention as well as saving you money.
These are of course hard to quantify reliably; however since you have already achieved pay back by leasing LED lighting, it is a happy bonus!
Often installing LED lighting will form part of a fit out or refurbishment project, in which case we are happy to look at lease or loan funding either as part of the overall project funding or as a stand-alone funding facility.
Since our lease facilities typically don’t require a deposit, you will start to see the savings from LED from day 1.
